Vice Dean Li Guangmin then delivered an opening speech, reflecting on the college’s original intention in promoting the international events. He emphasized that “cultivating interdisciplinary talents who can contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative, equipped with global perspectives and cross-cultural competencies” has always been the core mission of ISE. He noted that the dialogue with professors from CUT not only marked a symbolic step in deepening collaboration between TCU and CUT but also served as a unique opportunity for “bridging cultures through language and fostering mutual understanding between teachers and students.” He encouraged students to cast aside concerns about “perfect expression,” urging them to actively ask questions and share ideas with an open mind. By listening to Polish narratives and exploring differences in urban development between China and Europe, he emphasized that diverse perspectives could act as a catalyst for personal growth.
